OPTe strongly believes in freedom of speech. As a proud participant in the WordPress eco-system, we wish to\u00a0incorporate\u00a0the guidelines set forth by the great people at Automattic<\/a>. \u00a0Our audience is spread across many cultures, countries and backgrounds with varying values and our service is designed to let users freely express any ideas and opinions without us censoring or endorsing them. That being said, there are a few categories of content and behavior that we don\u2019t permit because we consider them harmful to the community.<\/p>\n

To be transparent about\u00a0what is and isn\u2019t allowed on your site, we\u2019ve incorporated this set of guidelines from WordPress.com. The following activity\/material isn\u2019t allowed on any of OPTe.io’s websites.<\/p>\n

Illegal content and conduct.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Self-explanatory.<\/p>\n

Intellectual property infringement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

OPTe.io is a publishing, rather than a file sharing platform, so we recognize that copyrighted materials are often used in <\/span>fair use<\/a> context. We strongly support this and urge copyright holders to take this into consideration before submitting complaints. If you\u2019re not sure, a good rule of thumb is to always ask the rights holder for permission before republishing their content.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pornography.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We know that there may be different definitions of this, but generally, we define pornography as visual depictions of sexually explicit acts. Nudity, in and of itself, is <\/span>fine<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technologically harmful content.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please don\u2019t upload\u00a0or link to malware, spyware, adware, or other malicious or destructive code.<\/p>\n

Impersonation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t claim to be a person or organization\u00a0you\u2019re not. (Parody and satire are ok though!)<\/p>\n

Directly threatening material.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We don\u2019t tolerate direct and realistic\u00a0threats of violence. (This\u00a0doesn\u2019t mean that we\u2019ll remove all\u00a0hyperbole\u00a0or\u00a0offensive language.)<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Posting private information.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t share someone\u2019s personal information<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0without their consent.<\/p>\n

Advertising.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Advertising isn\u2019t permitted unless you use your custom domain.<\/p>\n

Hotlinking to OPTe.io.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your OPTe.io site shouldn\u2019t host files that will only be used on other sites.<\/p>\n

Spam or machine-generated content.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You know what this is, but in general, sites such as those primarily dedicated to drive traffic to third party sites, boost SEO, phish, spoof, or promote affiliate marketing aren\u2019t cool. We don\u2019t want you to pollute the web outside of OPTe.io either, so we ask you to please avoid sending unwanted or unsolicited promotions or emails about your site, even if it\u2019s not on OPTe.io.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Bear in mind that these are just guidelines \u2014\u00a0interpretations are up to us<\/strong>. These guidelines are not exhaustive and are\u00a0subject to change.<\/p>\n

If you believe a OPTe.io site has violated our Terms of Service<\/a>\u00a0or any of these policies, please\u00a0report the site<\/a>.\u00a0We review and investigate all complaints that we receive, but if and how\u00a0we\u00a0respond will depend on a variety of factors, such as the information available to us and\u00a0the type\u00a0of violation.
